DPB 40143 : Organizational Behavior

Organizational behavior (OB) is a field of study investigating the impact that individuals, groups, and structure have on behavior within organizations to apply such knowledge toward improving an organization’s effectiveness.  That is a mouthful, so let us break it down.  OB is a field of study, meaning that it is a distinct area of expertise with a common body of knowledge. It focuses on three determinants of behavior in organizations: individuals, groups, and structure and applies the knowledge gained about individuals, groups, and the effect of structure on behavior to make organizations work more effectively.
